Freestyle season is right around the corner! The Auburn Takedown Club will be offering instruction in Freestyle Wrestling for current grades 6th-12th starting on Monday, March 7th, 2016 at the Auburn High School Old Gym.

- Coach Bullington and I took a second look at next week's practice schedule and agreed to the changes below in red. In short, we’ll have practice Mon, Tue, and Thu at the normal times next week. The dual meet and tournament schedules are unchanged.

- Our first tournament is scheduled for Saturday, December 5th at Mountain Brook High School. Register online at this link. First year wrestlers should sign up under the beginner brackets (e.g. - 8U beginner, etc). We will have weigh-ins at practice next week so don’t worry too much about the weight class for now, just select one that is above their present weight. Example: If a 9-year old weighs 68 pounds, he/she will be in the 10U (10 and under), 70 pound category. The fee is $15 and must be paid while registering. Wrestlers must attend all four tournaments to be eligible to wrestle at the state tournament on February 6th. If you have any questions or have trouble registering please contact me.

Parent Information
- Thanks for your support, the kids are doing great! Now that the season has officially started, we’ll be raising the practice intensity while keeping it fun! No practice Monday but this will be a great opportunity for your young ones to view actual wrestling matches at the Black & Blue Meet. This is an annual intra-squad meet which pits Tiger against Tiger! Varsity, JV, and Junior High wrestlers will grapple against each other as the Black and Blue “Teams” battle to see who is the “best”. Youth wrestlers and families will be admitted free so don’t miss it!
- The updated practice, meet, and tournament schedule is listed below. Note that some of the practice dates have been moved to Wednesday in order to work around the Varsity/JH dual meet schedules.

Location: Auburn High School, Old Gym
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Pre-season practice consisting of conditioning and technique instruction for 1st-6th grade wrestlers.
Attire: Singlet or t-shirt & shorts. Wrestling shoes optional until start of season.
